Arab American Women's Business Council

The Arab American Women's Business Council is a comprehensive professional development organization dedicated to empowering Arab American women entrepreneurs and business professionals in Dearborn, MI and across the nation. Since its founding in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization has established itself as a vital resource for women seeking to advance their careers and launch successful enterprises.

The Council provides an extensive array of professional services designed to support women at every stage of their business journey. Their mentorship program has guided 54 young Arab American women into diverse industries including finance, banking, nonprofit work, business, legal services, real estate, and healthcare. Professional development sessions reach approximately 1,000 women annually, covering critical topics such as leadership development, networking skills, financial literacy, social media strategy, business startup fundamentals, and estate planning.

Beyond individual coaching, the organization offers substantial financial support through scholarships—distributing over $103,000 to Arab American women pursuing higher education at community colleges, state universities, and Ivy League institutions. The Council also facilitates small business development initiatives where entrepreneurs collaborate to identify solutions and overcome shared challenges. Additional services include woman-owned business certification assistance and networking opportunities that connect businesses with consumers and other professional organizations. Their signature annual breakfast event has attracted over 2,500 attendees and features keynote speakers including CEOs, university presidents, and national political leaders. The organization has successfully served 230 businesses during the 2023-2024 fiscal year, demonstrating significant impact in supporting Arab American women entrepreneurs throughout Michigan and nationally.
